„Was bleibt“ beschäftigt sich mit sechs stillgelegten Abbaugebieten von Bodenschätzen. Die Arbeit zeigt Orte, die ihre ursprüngliche Funktion längst verloren haben, aber Jahrzehnte nach ihrer Nutzung in einem dauerhaften Übergangsstadium verharren. Physische Exponate aus diesen Gebieten konfrontieren unmittelbar mit ihrer Materialität. Die fotografische Arbeit fragt nach den langfristigen Folgen des Ressourcenabbaus und der industriellen Nutzung von Landschaft.
“Was bleibt” addresses six decommissioned extraction sites of mineral resources. The work presents places that have long lost their original function yet remain in a permanent state of transition decades after their use. Physical specimens from these areas confront the viewer directly with their materiality. The photographic work examines the long-term consequences of resource extraction and the industrial use of landscape.
