„Fast Lane“ befasst sich seit 2019 mit der Umgestaltung von Landschaft durch den Bau einer Autobahn. Boden wird zur Trasse, Vegetation zu Begleitgrün, Raum zu Abschnitten. Neben dokumentarischen Fotografien entsteht ein botanisches Archiv: Pflanzen, die auf provisorischen Böden entlang der künftigen Trasse wachsen, werden mittels Kontaktdruckverfahren reproduziert, das ihnen ihre individuelle Bestimmbarkeit entzieht, und auf standardisierten Archivseiten den jeweiligen Bauabschnitten zugeordnet. Das Projekt entwickelt sich mit dem Baufortschritt weiter.
Since 2019, “Fast Lane” examines the redesign of landscape through the construction of a highway. Soil becomes roadway, vegetation becomes roadside greenery, space becomes segmented into sections. Alongside documentary photographs, a botanical archive is emerging: plants growing on provisional soils along the future route are reproduced using a contact printing process that strips them of their taxonomic identifiability and assigns them to standardized archival pages corresponding to specific construction segments. The project continues to develop in parallel with the progress of construction.
